Rice University now offers the Rice University Bill Payment Suite. This site offers a 24x7 service for students and their families to view and manage student accounts, view statements, and make payments.

Some additional Suite features include:

• Viewing payment history
• Storing payment methods for quick and easy payments online
• As a student, providing permission to others (parents, employers, etc) to view bills, set up payment plans and make payments
• Setting up bills to be paid automatically
• Entering bank account information so refunds can be deposited electronically

Access to the Bill Payment Suite is easy. Simply:

1. Log into ESTHER through the Rice website
2. Select the “Student Services & Account Information” tab
3. Click on the "Account Summary - Pay My Bill" link or the "Student Records & Account Information" link
4. Click on the “Pay My Bill - Bill Payment Suite” button. This will open the Bill Payment Suite Home page.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are accessing Esther from my.rice.edu, you may not be able to access Bill Payment Suite. To solve this problem, open a new browser window and go to esther.rice.edu.

Authorized users (those which a student has set up to view statements, set up payment plans and make payments) will log into the Bill Payment Suite for "Authorized Users" . Click the following link: AUTHORIZED USER LOGIN or open a new browser and enter the following url address: www.rice.edu/billpay.

Users can maneuver through the site using the Quick View tab options or the tabs along the top. Below is a recap of the features offered under each tab.

QUICK VIEW TABS:

Current Account Status:

• View current account balance
• View payment plans
• Option to view current or previous term activity

eBills:

• View billing statements for an account
• Option to make a payment on an account

Recent Payment and Credits:

• View any payments or credits to an account since the last statement
• Option to view payment history

Payment Plans:

• View any payment plan a student is currently enrolled in
• See when next installment payment is due and the amount due

Create a Refund Profile:

• Set up a profile to have refunds electronically deposited into a checking or savings account
• View any past refunds

TOP TABS:

eBills:

• View billing statements on an account
• Option to make a payment on an account

Payments:

• View most recent statement billed
• View current account balance
• View payment plan installments
• View pending payments
• Option to make a payment
• Option to view payment history
• Option to create an automatic bill payment (a payment will automatically be debited from an account specified in a student’s profile)

Deposits:

• View deposit payments credited to an account

Payment Plans:

• View the enrollment date of a payment plan
• View a down payment amount
• View a pay off amount
• View installment payment due dates and amounts

Refunds:

• Option to set up a refund profile
• View any previous refunds

Authorized Users:

• Set up users (parents, employers, etc.) to view account information or make payments
• NOTE: Once a student has set up an Authorized User, that person will receive an email with their password and access information.

My Profiles:

• Set up a secondary email address in addition to a student’s Rice assigned email address
• Set up an email reminder for upcoming installment payments
• Set up a payment profile to electronically pay bills or installment payments
• Set up a refund profile to electronically receive refunds
